Melanie Ruth Fischer, aged 64, passed away on May 16, 2025, in Huntsville, AL. Originally from Chicopee, MA, she traveled to various cities before eventually settling in Huntsville three years ago. A loving mother to her children Joseph, Ella, and CJ, she is also survived by her brothers George and Glen Kiss, along with Glen’s wife, Lisa.

An Air Force veteran, Fischer devoted a significant portion of her career to the semiconductor industry in the Austin area. Known for her humor and spirit, she was beloved by friends and family alike. A celebration of life is scheduled for June 1, 2025, at Reunion Ranch in Georgetown, TX, where family and friends will gather to remember her vibrant personality and caring nature.

James Manley Dunn III

James Manley Dunn III, referred to as Jimmy, passed away on April 30, 2025, leaving behind a devoted family and a legacy of dedication to his work and community service. Survived by his mother Rose Dunn, wife AnnaLee, and children Mindy and James IV, Dunn was a respected member of Huntsville’s community.

Dunn dedicated 26 years of his career to Boeing, contributing to the Super Guppy transportation system for the International Space Station. His role involved managing operations on the manufacturing floor. Beyond his career, Dunn was actively involved with Whitesburg Baptist Church and provided volunteer services with Southern Baptist Disaster Relief. He drove a bus for several local educational institutions, sharing his kindness and warm spirit.

A celebration of life service was held on May 6, 2025, at Whitesburg Baptist Church’s South Campus, following a visitation on May 5 at Valhalla Funeral Home & Memory Gardens. Friends and family remembered Dunn not only for his work ethic but also for his unwavering support and friendship.

Lai Thongsy

Lai Thongsy passed away on May 14, 2025, at the age of 60, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 20, 1965, he was a devoted husband to Tha and a proud father to five daughters: Sheena, Sanda, Sally, Sandy, and Sarina. Thongsy was also a grandfather to 13 grandchildren, cherishing each moment spent with them.

Passionate about cooking, gardening, hunting, and fishing, Thongsy is remembered for his culinary skills and entertaining personality. His ability to tell captivating stories and bring joy to family gatherings was a hallmark of his character. He is survived by his father Kheua, brother Vath, and sisters Kham and Lee.
