Crestwood was founded in 1964 as a nursing facility and was called after the neighborhood in which it was originally located. The following year, it was converted into a hospital. Dr. Ellis Sparks, Dr. James Earl Robertson, and Dr. Bernie Moore, as well as local businessman Archie Hill, founded it. Crestwood Medical Center is a teaching hospital with national rankings in two disciplines.
A two-year certificate program in medical radiography prepares students for entry-level positions in the field of radiographic medical imaging.
